One bite is enough. One series is enough.

Four schedules · One choice

Which schedule is right for you?

We follow Swedish national guidance — your age and exposure horizon determine the right schedule. The physician decides together with you at the first visit.

— Faster start · Under 50

Rapid schedule

Day 0 · Day 14 · 5–12 mo

For when you need protection sooner but can complete dose 3 later. Protection within 2 weeks of dose 2. Healthy adults under 50 only.

First booster after 3 years
— When time is critical · Under 50

Express schedule

Day 0 · Day 7 · Day 21

Full protection within ~6–7 weeks. For imminent travel or vacation in tick areas. Healthy adults under 50 only.

First booster after 12–18 months — not 3 years
— Important · Swedish guidance
If you are 50 or older, or have a weakened immune system, you need four doses in the first year — not three. The Express schedule is not used for these groups. This follows Folkhälsomyndigheten, Smittskydd Stockholm and Svenska Infektionsläkarföreningen. If you were vaccinated abroad on a different schedule, bring your records — we will assess what catch-up is needed.

How it works.

Every patient is seen by a physician — not a vaccination booth. Documentation, indication and aftercare are written into your record.

01

Pre-screen

Indication, prior vaccination history, allergies (egg, neomycin, gentamicin), pregnancy or immunosuppression review.

02

Consult

Specialist physician selects the right schedule with you, explains booster timing and reactions, takes informed consent.

03

Vaccination

Nurse administers 0.5 mL Encepur Adult intramuscularly in the deltoid. Lot number, expiry and site documented.

04

15-minute observation

You stay 15 minutes after the injection. Vaccination card updated. Next appointment booked before you leave.

After primary series

Booster cadence, by age.

Booster intervals follow Swedish national practice. We book and recall automatically.

Booster every 5–10 years (provided at least four doses received before age 50). Express schedule: first booster after 12–18 months, then 5–10 years.
50 or older
Booster every 5 years. Applies if vaccinated after 50, or if fewer than four doses received before 50.

Frequently asked

Questions and answers.

Do I need a referral?
No. You can book a TBE vaccination consultation directly with us. The pre-vaccination consultation determines whether vaccination is indicated and which schedule to use.
I was vaccinated abroad — does that count?
Often yes. Bring your vaccination record. We assess what catch-up doses you need according to Swedish guidance. Vaccines like FSME-Immun and Encepur are interchangeable after the primary series.
Can I get vaccinated during pregnancy?
It’s a case-by-case risk-benefit assessment by the physician. Vaccination is generally deferred unless high exposure risk justifies it. Breastfeeding is not a contraindication.
What about egg allergy?
Per the Encepur SmPC, egg allergy based on questionnaire or skin-prick test does not normally entail increased risk. We document and proceed with standard 15-minute observation. Severe anaphylaxis to egg is a contraindication — refer to an allergologist first.
Will I get a vaccination certificate?
Yes. We update your internal vaccination card at every dose, and issue a formal vaccination certificate on letterhead at completion of the primary series — useful for travel, embassy and occupational purposes.
