What to Expect:
The scan takes approximately 45-55 minutes. A small intravenous line will be placed in your arm for contrast injection during the scan. You may need to fast for 4-6 hours before the examination for optimal imaging. You’ll lie comfortably while detailed images of your biliary system are captured. The contrast enhancement provides superior visualization of the bile ducts and helps detect abnormalities. The procedure is non-invasive and much safer than traditional diagnostic ERCP.
